About the Facility

The Phillipsburg Aquatic Center was constructed in 2012/2013. This facility includes a large outdoor pool and an indoor therapy / exercise pool. Both pools are accessible by zero entry, ramping, or steps. The indoor facility opened to the public in February 2013 while the outdoor facility opened May 2013.

Locker rooms, showers, and restrooms are also a part of the facility.

Funding for the Facility

In 2011, residents of the City of Phillipsburg voted to approve a 1% sales tax to fund the construction and operation of the aquatic facility.

Design & Construction

In 2010, the City of Phillipsburg appointed a committee to advise the City. The following served as committee members: Lisa Schmidt; Sue Kipp; Dorene Hobbs; Jack Witmer; Stuart Thompson; Roxanne Bartels; Tad Thompson; Regan Bartels; Sabrina Voorhees; Seth Derr.

Spangenberg Phillips Tice Architecture, Wichita, Kansas and Larkin Aquatics, Kansas City, Missouri designed the facilty.

Branco Enterprises, Inc. of Neosho, Missouri served as the general contractors.
