Mayor Pat Hewitt has proclaimed June 14, 2017 as Flag Day within the City of Phillipsburg. The first official flag of the United States was adopted by an act of Congress on June 14, 1777. On August 3, 1949, Congress designated June 14 as National Flag Day. Mayor Hewitt urges all citizens to pause and recite the Pledge of Allegiance at 6 p.m. (CDT) to honor our flag and nation.
