[ARCHIVED] Ordinance #1403 Pertaining to Service Connection Fees

At the June 5, 2017 City Council meeting,  Ordinance #1403 pertaining to service connection fees was adopted.  Effective today the utility service connection fees will change in the City of Phillipsburg.  Previous ordinances required a charge of $5 each time the water was turned on or off.  The new ordinance will require a $25 non-refundable connection fee for new water service.  A $25 non-refundable connection fee will be charged for each time the water is physically connected/disconnected for a period of time or transferred when moving from one address to another address.  All connection and transfer fees will be required to be paid before service is connected.  A transfer fee will not be charged when only changing names on an account, such as from a deceased person’s name to their estate or between roommates, if there is no water meter reading required.  If the service is disconnected due to a delinquent bill a $25 non refundable service fee along with the full delinquent bill will be paid prior to water service being reestablished.  For additional information please read Ordinance #1403.
