  • Trash must be placed at the curb by 8:00 am on the assigned trash day. If the trash is not at the curb, it will not be picked up unless there has been a request to be on the solid waste assistance list, in which the city will retrieve the poly-karts. The trash will also not be picked up if the poly-kart or dumpsters contains materials that are not allowed.

  • The city does not have a recycling pick-up service. However, there are recycling trailers located at the City Water Plant at 46 East Santa Fe Road and recycling can be taken to the Phillips County Landfill.

  • Yes. The city has a Yard Waste Pick-Up Program available for a fee. The city also provides trucks on the weekends at no cost for residents to place either grass and leaves or tree limbs to be taken to the landfill. Call the City Office at (785) 543-5234.

  • The city does not collect tree limbs or brush as a part a solid waste. The city does provide trucks on the weekends at no cost for residents for placing tree limbs to be taken to the landfill. Occasionally, the city will collect tree limbs and brush after severe storms if public works staff is available. The city also has a city-wide clean up in the spring and fall and the public works staff will collect tree limbs and brush.

  • The city typically provides one week of city-wide clean up in the spring and fall. The clean up dates will be announced on KKAN/KQMA, in the local newspapers, and on this website.
