  • If a backflow occurs during normal business hours (Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm), call the City Office at (785) 543-5234. During non-business hours, call the Phillipsburg Water Plant at (785) 543-5023 or (785) 543-1941. If nobody can be reached, please call the Phillips County Sheriff's non-emergency line at (785) 543-6885.

  • Call Kansas One-Call at 1-800-DIGSAFE for locating all public utilities. The city cannot locate private sewer service lines.

  • New service taps must be performed by a licensed plumbing contractor and a sewer tap fee must be paid in advance. The public works foreman must also inspect the tap prior to backfilling the new connection.

  • It depends on the type of usage (i.e. residential, commercial, industrial). For residential service, there is a standard rate if water is used in that month, plus a set rate per 1,000 gallons that is based on the amount of water used for the service during the winter months of December, January, and February.
