  • If a backflow occurs during normal business hours (Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm), call the City Office at (785) 543-5234. During non-business hours, call the Phillipsburg Water Plant at (785) 543-5023 or (785) 543-1941. If nobody can be reached, please call the Phillips County Sheriff's non-emergency line at (785) 543-6885.

  • Call Kansas One-Call at 1-800-DIGSAFE for locating all public utilities. The city cannot locate private sewer service lines.

  • New service taps must be performed by a licensed plumbing contractor and a sewer tap fee must be paid in advance. The public works foreman must also inspect the tap prior to backfilling the new connection.

  • It depends on the type of usage (i.e. residential, commercial, industrial). For residential service, there is a standard rate if water is used in that month, plus a set rate per 1,000 gallons that is based on the amount of water used for the service during the winter months of December, January, and February. Please see waste water rates for other rates.
