Anheuser-Busch and Pestinger Distributing are joining forces with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) to deliver more than 2,350 cans of emergency drinking water to Phillips County Rural District #1 Fire Department in Phillipsburg/Kansas, as part of the brewer’s larger effort to provide 1.5 million cans to volunteer fire departments across the country. This donation will prepare local volunteer firefighters with vital resources ahead of the annual summer wildfire season, rather than waiting for disaster to strike. The continued partnership builds on Anheuser-Busch's longstanding history of showing up for its communities and demonstrates its deep appreciation for the first responders who help to keep them safe. Across the country, 65 percent of firefighters — typically the first line of defense in local emergencies — are volunteers, often with limited department budgets for critical supplies. Anheuser-Busch's water donations allow these departments to free up limited resources for other expenses or equipment needed to keep their force prepared to respond to any emergency or disaster. Produced and canned by Anheuser-Busch breweries, the 1.5 million cans of emergency drinking water will be distributed to over 630 volunteer fire departments (VFDs) across 45 states.[DT1] We at Pestinger Distributing believe that if you take care of your local communities that they will take care of you. We are honored to support the brave first responders in their efforts to protect these communities by providing them with precious drinking water in their times of need. Anheuser-Busch’s breweries in Cartersville, Georgia and Fort Collins, Colorado periodically pause beer production each year to can clean, safe emergency drinking water to support disaster relief efforts. Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has produced more than 100 million cans of clean drinking water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises. Smith Center, KS — August 14, 2025 — Trinity Ag Coop is proud to announce they have awarded a grant donation of $2500, with a matching grant from CoBank, to the Phillips County Rural Fire Departments. This funding will enhance the department’s capabilities in providing life-saving emergency services and further support their commitment to protecting Phillips County communities.
The grant will be used to replace outdated and non-compliant flashlights with modern intrinsically safe flashlights for all frontline firefighting personnel. Intrinsically safe flashlights are critical for operating in environments with flammable gases, vapors, and combustible dust, significantly reducing the risk of ignition and injury. This update will ensure the Departments meet NFPA standards and operate with equipment that enhances both safety and effectiveness during emergency responses.
Every year, the Trinity Ag Board of Directors and CoBank choose to give back to the first responders that serve and protect our communities. They are honored to support these frontline personnel by helping to ensure they have the tools and resources they need.
